Is depression really a medical condition?

Despite the many proclaimed advances in the field of psychology and pharmacology, depression continues to increase at an alarming rate. Pills and conventional therapy are simply band-aid treatments placed upon gaping wounds that are grossly ineffective in addressing the root problems of depression. If they worked, depression would be declining instead of rising. Conventional therapy is nothing more than a top coat of paint providing temporary aesthetic beauty, destined to peel off over time. Medications may seemingly solve one problem while causing several other problems, often with severe and irreversible health consequences.

Meaning of Life Issues

The root causes of depression invariably revolve around “Meaning of Life Issues” that is more often than not completely overlooked when addressing a persons depression.

They are in fact central to a full recovery!

While physical and mental symptoms may develop as a result of depression they are secondary to the root cause of depression. Depression is a spiritual illness. That’s right! Depression is rooted in a weakened spiritual being an area unknown to the medical world. The entire medical community is saying no, this is our area, do not enter. But in reality it is not their area and they have no cure. All they may offer are band-aid solutions to cover the physical and mental symptoms. If you want help with spiritual problems you need to consult an expert who is understanding the causes of spiritual illness and knows how to resolve them.

Native American’s call it “Finding Your Center”, Eastern Mystics refer to it as a process of “Purifying the Heart”. Buddhists explain it as a “Balance between Ying and Yang, Body and Soul.”, Kabbalahism, talks about “Navigating Between the Physical and Metaphysical Worlds”.

Scientists have attempted to remove this component because they can not quantify it, study it or understand it within the limitations of their minds. Spirituality is not within their area of expertise. Their attempts to undermine and discredit spirituality has ended in dismal failure. Moreover, the scientific approach focused on eliminating and discrediting spirituality is the root cause for the enormous increase of depression in the Western worlds. In fact, the field of human science is nothing more than a religion unto itself that preaches self as your center. Self (ego and mind) is not your center, your heart is your center.
