At last a new psychic site has been released that is very different than anything seen before. It offers a new experience and introduces people to the interesting world of Psychic phenomenon.
metaphysical
Many of us may have never visited a psychic site but the Universal Psychic Guild is a psychic site that certainly deserves a look. Not only do they have many psychics, tarot readers and clairvoyants but they have included a huge range of other services and information much of it free. It is a great resource for anyone who is interested in spirituality and how it can affect their lives.
They have a comprehensive library that includes many different topics on Spirituality and Metaphysics as well as a chat room which their psychics give free readings in on a daily basis. You can log on and actually see which psychics will be giving free readings and what other topics they will be talking about.
Matthew Smith from the Psychic Guild explains that it has taken years to get together the people and information that appears on the Psychic Guild. Further he ads that the Psychic Guild has a strong emphasis on customer service and customer satisfaction.

The Psychic Guild has combined the talents of some of the most sought after Psychics and Mystics and is one of the first sites to offer global access to its service. Some of the other services available are email and chat room psychic readings, free astrology and horoscope reports as well as monthly features providing information on areas such as travel destinations, health and wellbeing and motivational tips. A part I especially liked with the site was the ability to send in experiences and articles you have as well as read those that others had sent in.

‘Bridging the Gap’ – A Novel Review
by C. Bailey-Lloyd

When Intuitive Consultant, Scott Christiansen presented me with “Bridging the Gap,” I had no perception how profoundly liberating this spiritually enlightening passage would be.

I say, “passage,” as Bridging the Gap is more than just another metaphysical book, it is a journey into the self – and positive exploration thereof. Additionally, Mr. Christansen’s book demonstrates how to achieve conscious coexistence between human belief systems and metaphysical planes.

If one can manage to put this compelling novel aside long enough to investigate Chapter Eight’s invitation, he will discover how to reinvent his entire essence of life and living.

Poignant: Bridging the Gap is an evolutional doorway revealing limits we place upon ourselves through preconceptual idealism and teachings; And explains how to constructively merge faith, intellect and the world of metaphysics into one, awakened spiritual being.

From his masterfully crafted words, Scott asks, “…Is the new you ready for your new life? Are you ready to create and manifest your own reality? Are you prepared to make the necessary changes in your lifestyle and choices to accomplish this? Are you ready to focus on the positive, eliminate the negative and give the best of your new knowledge to yourself and those you love? If the answer is yes, then I welcome you to your new life!”

In conclusion – persons who are actively seeking solutions to personal growth, life fulfillment and understanding to metaphysical realms and their interrelation to the Divine; Bridging the Gap is a must-have book.

I. The Three Intuitions

IA. Eidetic Intuitions

Intuition is supposed to be a form of direct access. Yet, direct access to what? Does it access directly “intuitions” (abstract objects, akin to numbers or properties – see “Bestowed Existence”)? Are intuitions the objects of the mental act of Intuition? Perhaps intuition is the mind’s way of interacting directly with Platonic ideals or Phenomenological “essences”? By “directly” I mean without the intellectual mediation of a manipulated symbol system, and without the benefits of inference, observation, experience, or reason.

Kant thought that both (Euclidean) space and time are intuited. In other words, he thought that the senses interact with our (transcendental) intuitions to produce synthetic a-priori knowledge. The raw data obtained by our senses -our sensa or sensory experience – presuppose intuition. One could argue that intuition is independent of our senses. Thus, these intuitions (call them “eidetic intuitions”) would not be the result of sensory data, or of calculation, or of the processing and manipulation of same. Kant’s “Erscheiung” (”phenomenon”, or “appearance” of an object to the senses) is actually a kind of sense-intuition later processed by the categories of substance and cause. As opposed to the phenomenon, the “nuomenon” (thing in itself) is not subject to these categories.

Descartes’ “I (think therefore I) am” is an immediate and indubitable innate intuition from which his metaphysical system is derived. Descartes’ work in this respect is reminiscent of Gnosticism in which the intuition of the mystery of the self leads to revelation.

Bergson described a kind of instinctual empathic intuition which penetrates objects and persons, identifies with them and, in this way, derives knowledge about the absolutes – “duration” (the essence of all living things) and “Alan vital” (the creative life force). He wrote: “(Intuition is an) instinct that has become disinterested, self-conscious, capable of reflecting upon its object and of enlarging it indefinitely.” Thus, to him, science (the use of symbols by our intelligence to describe reality) is the falsification of reality. Only art, based on intuition, unhindered by mediating thought, not warped by symbols – provides one with access to reality.

Spinoza’s and Bergson’s intuited knowledge of the world as an interconnected whole is also an “eidetic intuition”.

Spinoza thought that intuitive knowledge is superior to both empirical (sense) knowledge and scientific (reasoning) knowledge. It unites the mind with the Infinite Being and reveals to it an orderly, holistic, Universe.

Friedrich Schleiermacher and Rudolf Otto discussed the religious experience of the “numinous” (God, or the spiritual power) as a kind of intuitive, pre-lingual, and immediate feeling.

Croce distinguished “concept” (representation or classification) from “intuition” (expression of the individuality of an objet d’art). Aesthetic interest is intuitive. Art, according to Croce and Collingwood, should be mainly concerned with expression (i.e., with intuition) as an end unto itself, unconcerned with other ends (e.g., expressing certain states of mind).

Eidetic intuitions are also similar to “paramartha satya” (the “ultimate truth”) in the Madhyamika school of Buddhist thought. The ultimate truth cannot be expressed verbally and is beyond empirical (and illusory) phenomena. Eastern thought (e.g. Zen Buddhism) uses intuition (or experience) to study reality in a non-dualistic manner.

IB. Emergent Intuitions

A second type of intuition is the “emergent intuition”. Subjectively, the intuiting person has the impression of a “shortcut” or even a “short circuiting” of his usually linear thought processes often based on trial and error. This type of intuition feels “magical”, a quantum leap from premise to conclusion, the parsimonious selection of the useful and the workable from a myriad possibilities. Intuition, in other words, is rather like a dreamlike truncated thought process, the subjective equivalent of a wormhole in Cosmology. It is often preceded by periods of frustration, dead ends, failures, and blind alleys in one’s work.

Artists – especially performing artists (like musicians) – often describe their interpretation of an artwork (e.g., a musical piece) in terms of this type of intuition. Many mathematicians and physicists (following a kind of Pythagorean tradition) use emergent intuitions in solving general nonlinear equations (by guessing the approximants) or partial differential equations.

Henri Poincaret insisted (in a presentation to the Psychological Society of Paris, 1901) that even simple mathematical operations require an “intuition of mathematical order” without which no creativity in mathematics is possible. He described how some of his creative work occurred to him out of the blue and without any preparation, the result of emergent intuitions. These intuitions had “the characteristics of brevity, suddenness and immediate certainty… Most striking at first is this appearance of sudden illumination, a manifest sign of long, unconscious prior work. The role of this unconscious work in mathematical invention appears to me incontestable, and traces of it would be found in other cases where it is less evident.”

Subjectively, emergent intuitions are indistinguishable from insights. Yet insight is more “cognitive” and structured and concerned with objective learning and knowledge. It is a novel reaction or solution, based on already acquired responses and skills, to new stimuli and challenges. Still, a strong emotional (e.g., aesthetic) correlate usually exists in both insight and emergent intuition.

Intuition and insight are strong elements in creativity, the human response to an ever changing environment. They are shock inducers and destabilizers. Their aim is to move the organism from one established equilibrium to the next and thus better prepare it to cope with new possibilities, challenges, and experiences. Both insight and intuition are in the realm of the unconscious, the simple, and the mentally disordered. Hence the great importance of obtaining insights and integrating them in psychoanalysis – an equilibrium altering therapy.

IC. Ideal Intuitions

The third type of intuition is the “ideal intuition”. These are thoughts and feelings that precede any intellectual analysis and underlie it. Moral ideals and rules may be such intuitions (see “Morality – a State of Mind?”). Mathematical and logical axioms and basic rules of inference (”necessary truths”) may also turn out to be intuitions. These moral, mathematical, and logical self-evident conventions do not relate to the world. They are elements of the languages we use to describe the world (or of the codes that regulate our conduct in it). It follows that these a-priori languages and codes are nothing but the set of our embedded ideal intuitions.

As the Rationalists realized, ideal intuitions (a class of undeniable, self-evident truths and principles) can be accessed by our intellect. Rationalism is concerned with intuitions – though only with those intuitions available to reason and intellect. Sometimes, the boundary between intuition and deductive reasoning is blurred as they both yield the same results. Moreover, intuitions can be combined to yield metaphysical or philosophical systems. Descartes applied ideal intuitions (e.g., reason) to his eidetic intuitions to yield his metaphysics. Husserl, Twardowki, even Bolzano did the same in developing the philosophical school of Phenomenology.

In the early 90’s I had a spontaneous Kundalini Awakening after a near death experience, which I wrote about in a different article. Here’s what happened next.
After I got out of the hospital after my injury, and even during my stay there, I felt that I was extremely different. At the time I accounted it to just being glad to still be alive, and for over a decade I never thought anything more about it.
Yet the fact was that I did feel extremely different and I felt driven to pursue meditation and other avenues that I’d always had a vague interest in, but never really pursued.
Now it was an imperative, so I began reading everything I could find. Unfortunately I wasn’t finding much that was useful. It was about a year later that I discovered “Pathnotes of an American Ninja Master” by Dr. Glenn Morris.
It was the first I’d ever heard of kundalini, Reiki, Chi Kung and Therapeutic Touch. Within a few days I discovered a Chi Kung class near where I lived in Ft. Lauderdale and was able to barter some dreamcatchers and other odds and ends for some classes.
My teacher there was also a Reiki Master, so he introduced me to Reiki also.
Over the next decade I floundered around (or so I thought) and worked a wide variety of jobs and studied a strange variety of classes in school, as well as spent a large amount of time out in the mountains or hiding out in the desert and just communing and doing various types of energy work.
A couple of years ago while living up in Glenwood Springs, CO I was again drawn to get deeper into my energy work, and entered a period of intense yoga, Reiki, chi kung and meditation.
One night while meditating I had a vision of a lotus flower, but the vision included the flower, the stem and the roots.
The meaning was instantly obvious and I easily connected my energy and felt a rush up my spine and out through the top of my head.
Over the next few months I went through a period that I can only describe as a karmic clean-out.
Any unresolved issue that I didn’t properly deal with would keep popping up over and over until I dealt with it calmly and from my center.
I had my drivers license revoked twice (during a period when I was just being hired by UPS, blew the engines on 3 vehicles and had a tortured series of bureaucratic battles.
I had strange energy surges as my body re-wired itself and had energy releases that sent me to massage therapists and other Reiki practitioners to have cleaned out.
Some of this still happens, and probably always will.
I also went through a period of balancing my chakras, and I can look back at my life in various periods and see what chakra I was in.
After a few months I started trying to get away from it all. I stopped doing my yoga and meditation and entered a period that I can only describe as a mental hell. I later learned that even then I was balancing out my light and dark sides (but that’s a new posting).
After a few months of this I finally realized that the best way to deal with all this was to *quit trying to deal with it and JUST ACCEPT IT*.
Once I began relaxing into myself and wasn’t fighting the changes as much, I began to really feel a deep connection to the other energy around me.
Cities like Denver drove me nuts, and a casual drive through the mountains (my buddy Jeff called them ‘medicine drives’) would turn into an hours long meditation as I could feel the energy of all the trees and the world around me as I passed through.
It was still a time of healing and I carried around a damaged feeling that was gradually lessening as I became more relaxed.
At the time I was living in an old RV and just traveling around. I went back to Albuquerque for the winter and, even though things were still hard, I was learning to feel better.
Then one day in February I suddenly realized that I was still working against myself.
I made a silent affirmation that I would quit working so hard at this, and that I was just going to relax, have fun and enjoy each moment and see where I was supposed to go next.
A couple of days later I got a message from Jeff that Dr. Glenn Morris (whom I’d had a chance to finally meet at a metaphysical fair the previous October) wanted me to come up for a weekend and assist with the booth at another metaphysical fair.
So back I came to Denver, and a weekend of volunteer work turned into a temporary partnership in a nonprofit and my helping with several of his kundalini awakening seminars.
My training with Glenn opened up a vast world of new experiences and showed me that so many parts of my life actually made sense, and opened the way for the healing and growth that I so badly needed.
Along the way I remembered that every time I had a problem or needed some direction I could just relax and affirm to go wherever I was supposed to.
The lesson for me was to have a little faith, and that having faith will work only if you commit to it and then let it happen.
Even now I continue to affirm that I’ll go wherever I’m supposed to go and do whatever it is that I’m supposed to do, and so far I’ve ALWAYS had the guidance I needed within a couple of days.
I hope this helps some of you who may be struggling with some aspects of this. This is obviously an ongoing process that’s moving into it’s second decade and probably will never be ‘finished’, but at least I’m learning to enjoy the ride and go where I’m supposed to.

Metaphysical Schools are schools that are geared towards the study of metaphysics, or the science or philosophy which systematically examines the beginnings of all existence, eventual reality, knowledge, being and the nature of the universe.

Metaphysical schools are instructed on the belief that all things are a part of a whole — and that each thing, alive or not living, should be respected. Metaphysical schools are also founded on the principles that all things are interdependent with one another and are all complimentary to one another.

Persons interested in enrolling in metaphysical schools should be prepared to learn that interpretation and understanding of life on the physical, mental, emotional and spritual planes are all interconnected.

Metaphysical schools usually offer different forms of education. Personal Growth, degree programs and NAMI certification programs are all types of education curriculums in metaphysical schools. Those wishing to study diverse metaphysical courses without attending degree or New Age Ministries international certification programs can enroll in personal growth courses. In order to obtain a degree in metaphysical schools, one can enroll in the degree program to attain an Associate, Bachelor, Master or Doctoral degree. Other persons who are seeking NAMI certification must enroll in the degree program prior to gaining Metaphysical minister, Spiritual Healer, Teacher, Pastoral Counselor, Psychic, Spirit Medium or Past Life/Age Regression Facilitator practioner status.

To obtain an Associate degree in metaphysical schools, one must successfully complete at least 60 semester credit hours of metaphysical studies. A Bachelor’s Degree requires completion of at least 120 semester credit hours, a Master’s degree requires an additional 30 semester credit hours beyond the Bacherlor’s degree, and a Doctor’s degree requires 60 semester credit hours beyond the Master’s degree.

Some courses offered in Metaphysical schools are as follows: Angel studies, comparative/contemporary religion, complementary healing, parapsychology studies, esoteric studies, holistic healing arts, metaphysical education, minsterial studies, music and esoteric sound, mysticism studies, Neo-pagan studies, Native American spiritual studies, naturopathic studies, Neuro-Linguistics Programming, pastoral counseling, psychic sciences and spiritual sciences — just to name a few.
