Is corporate involvement in the world water crisis good for society?

Water existed long before any notion of a civilization could evolve into a Society. Water is not a commodity that should be marketed and owned by any one person, persons and/or UNIVERSAL POWERS.

Great debates from diverse ethical, social, political, scientific, metaphysical, spiritual and religious organizations about the massive shift in global consciousness that recognizes the new direction that this world- this PLANET EARTH OF OURS must now spiral upward and towards in a more unified progressive partnership of accountability shared by ALL OF HUMANITY to insure that future generations will have a world that they will be proud to live upon is the GLOBAL AGENDA.

“Is corporate involvement in the world water crisis good for society?” Five powerful journalists have written extremely insightful, fact based perspectives that relate to the essential importance of the shared responsibility to the quality of life for humanity that even corporate involvement is necessary, and essential; yet will not inevitably decide the final outcome of the world water crisis.

C. Page, Nancy L. Young-Houser, Emma Yes, Patrick Anthony Drake, and Adewale Atewogbade are writers of Helium.com who project diversity in their concepts and perspectives which can be viewed as a Commodity of Ideas related to this question but more importantly provide potential solutions of approaching this issue that corporations could consider in any pre-implementation plans.

Unique and profound scientific experiments performed by Dr. Masaru Emoto, author of: Messages from Water, Vol. 1, 2-3, The Hidden Messages in Water, Water Crystal Healing: Music & Images to Restore Your Well Being has photographically captured the evidences that our thoughts and words are co-creating the conditions of our shared realities.

Dr. Emoto travels around the world building alliances with corporations, grass roots community based organizations along with establishing his own companies with an inspirational mission of peace that involves HEALING OUR GLOBAL WATERS by first understanding the significance of achieving Well Being by cultivating, nurturing, educating and restoring the real values in positive, enthusiastic consciousness in humanity again.

The conclusion is the world water crisis must be approached by all with a higher and purer consciousness that facilitates the materialization of solutions suited for the greatest and highest purpose of this universal family that we are all apart of.

The United States government does one thing well and one thing only. It can spend money like a Doberman can eat a prime rib roast. The U.S. government spends money, not with simple commitment, but with unbridled enthusiasm. So, today, when the Feds took over Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, we could all rest comfortably in the knowledge that a huge portion of the mortgage mess would be alleviated by the infusion of good old-fashioned government greenbacks. Never mind that those greenbacks would eventually need to come from inflation-generating government printing presses, or Chinese lenders, or that kind of surreal and mysterious metaphysical transfer system that defers the whole wad of cash into the future, and places it on the backs of our children and grandchildren. For the time being, this particular economic crisis proved that it could be smoothed-over by the one thing the government is good at spending money.

I wish that all of our problems could be amenable to the same solution. Specifically, I wish that the energy crisis could be solved with big government money. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Pulitzer Prize winning writer and brilliant thinker, Thomas Friedman, is proposing that our energy problems can be solved by something he is calling, the ET revolution. ET stands for Energy Technology. He sees the ET revolution unfolding much like the IT revolution in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when home computers and the Internet transformed the way that we gained and shared information. Friedman’s analogy is simplistic, and therefore flawed. The fact is that 20 to 30 years ago, the majority of the bright scientific and engineering minds in the world were doing their thinking and working right here in the United States. Not so anymore. Just like the Nazi regime in Germany drove away the best German scientific thinkers in the 1930s, and pushed many of them across the sea to our shores, so has the Bush administration has pushed scientific thought out of the United States and sent much of it across the sea to Asia. I don’t mean to imply that the Bush administration is the equivalent of Nazism. No way. But George W. Bush and his cronies have created an almost medieval, Spanish Inquisitional, modern Dark Ages where it comes to science stifling research and even simple discourse on scientific subjects ranging from stem cell therapies to global warming.

Today, our public educational system is a pathetic failure in the teaching of language and mathematics, but it fails even more spectacularly in the teaching of science. Only 18% of high schoolers take even one science class during their years in the classroom. If (as the Republican presidential candidates are proposing) supernatural divine creation is inserted into the school curriculum, scientific learning will suffer even more. So the question is this if an ET revolution is going to save us from energy catastrophe, then how will the technology (the T in ET) come about without a strong community of scientists and engineers? The answer is that the ET revolution will take place where science has now found a home. Unfortunately, that place is Asia, not the United States.

To die in vain is to die for no good reason, to cast away your life on a pointless cause that has no bearing on your life and no value to your perception of the world.

The well-informed and well-intentioned soldier who goes voluntarily into the jaws of the beast cannot die in vain.

As metaphysical as this sounds, it can be shortened to simply this: it is the soldier who determines the meaning of his death. Therefore the answer to this question has to be “NO!”

The soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines fighting in Iraq have volunteered to serve in harm’s way because they kept faith with their oath of enlistment or office. The stay there for a number of reasons:

– Some are fighting for the freedom of Iraqi peoples;

– Some are fighting for America’s freedom from terrorism and fear;

– Some are fighting for glory,

– And others are simply fighting for the person next to them.

Whatever the reason they embrace, it is the one they have chosen to stake their life on. They have declared in their soul “This is worth everything to me, even unto the end of my days!”

For non participants to sit and say that “no, it isn’t worth it,” is to speak in ignorance.

Civilians who have never donned a uniform, never placed their lives on the line for a cause they believe in often sit wringing their hands over the politics of war. What they never know is that politics lose their meaning in war.

All my life I have seen men go off to war. Many say the Vietnam War was an exercise in futility. Many loud voices mourn the 58,000 names on the Black Wall and wonder “What were WE doing there?”

That’s a question that I never hear from my father or any of the thousands of Vietnam vets I grew up with, served with and ultimately buried in federal cemeteries. THEY who went knew their reasons.

That is the great mystery and the open truth of this question. A soldier who is sent to die in ignorance by an uncaring population or leader has died in vain. It has happened before.

Eastern nations from Turkey to China have amassed great conscript armies for millennia. These conscripts have been marched to their deaths in their tens of thousands for nothing more than the glory of a distant despot.

But a volunteer in a free society has his own motive. America’s warriors serving in Iraq have given a value to things of our nation. They think American ideals are worth dying for and we who stand and watch are simply not qualified to minimize their sacrifice.

All we should do, all we can do is honor them and remember them.

Perception and reality seldom occupy the same space. This truth usually treated as a mere inconvenience in global politics, where images speak volumes, no matter how much is lost in the telling. When the moral authority of a world power like the United States is predicated upon a perception of global standing that implies an enhanced sense of ethical jurisprudence, often a higher standard of conduct threatens to be among one of it’s many underpinnings.

During the first Gulf War, the use of “collateral damage”, a term implying the inclusion of men, women and children as a part of buildings and infrastructure, was employed for an editorial euphemism in place of the more messy and damning designation “civilian casualties”. When civilians become somehow metaphysical, there comes a concomitant detachment from the act of waging war itself. With a clear, clinical conscience, the soldier in the air or on the ground can more easily occupy the moral gray space of bombardiers, excused a complete accountability because of their great distance from indistinct targets. “Smart” weapons keep soldiers safely out of harm’s way, but create new, larger questions as to the necessary human component of judgment. Even the most careful use of force in hostile regions cannot prevent all accidental civilian deaths, particularly where the line between “civilian” and “military” is hopelessly blurred. “The fog of war” that is often cited when explaining civilian casualties, might be better regarded as more of a navigational aid than an impediment when defining the ethics and guidelines for the use of force in civilian areas.

Soldiering in this new era might take a page from Hippocrates, and first; do no harm. A surgical application of power with all contingencies explored for the preservation of life is the best assurance of success in both the military and the political outcomes in any military campaign. In missions that are essentially borne for the achievement of political ends, to put life paramount sends a clear humanitarian message that is likely to inspire the unqualified confidence of allies and would-be allies. When waging war on what are in essence juxtaposed perceptions, extreme care should be taken to see that terrorists aren’t fought with the same abandon and sense of moral bankruptcy we see in terrorism itself.

No Land, No Space, No View

I shouldn’t assume that people want to hear about Jesus it’s a thoroughly worn and, all too often, a misinterpreted icon. I get it no one wants to hear about the sensation of the spirit tumbling through your metaphysical or the tingling shiver of a soul-filled reformation of the heart it’s too in-your-face, too touchy-feely, too spiritual. Few things are more offensive than to be subjected to religious mumbo-jumbo like Christian tee shirts preaching: “Jesus saved us with a BIG, UGLY stick,” crucifix dominating the shirt face, bleeding crimson from its twisted wooden anatomy who wants to see that? Not me. So I’ll center upon, just thata far more popular, interesting, and rugged subject-me. And the Holy Land-Jesus’ stomping grounds.

I went to the Holy Land at fifteen years old. When I returned, as an adult, I was a different person all together clear minded, culturally educated, and spiritually emancipated. So for this latest trip, I knew that an eighteen hour flight results in limbs periodically slipping into rubbery oblivion; I knew that the hot weather and numerous bottles of drinking water are inevitably paired; I knew that shorts were generally a bad plan and that trying the food, no matter how full you are, is a good idea. But I didn’t know about the walls-the large Berlin-like monument that snakes across a blameless landscape.

Israel looks a lot like southern California; the landscapes are remarkably similar. The hot, rocky terrain makes for a breathtaking desert scenery-dotted with terracing that has been in place for over 2,000 years and olive trees that have twisted out of the ground and produced for over 1,500 years. Beautiful is appropriate.

In the desert, I couldn’t tell you which was hotter, the waves of auburn heat lifting off the stone littered ground, or the deluge of indurate rays beating down from a faceless sun in a cool cloudless sky. There aren’t many trees in the desert just those that found root in the slim canyon along the old roman road. Everything gleams orange and white under the brilliant blue sky. Nothing could live there. It’s dry. It’s dead. Seemingly a world away from the northern Galilean cities (Nazareth and Tiberius), where the countryside is lush-full of pines, olive trees, and eucalyptus; flowers aren’t unseen, and the scarce gray-green grass pokes-out from under every chapped rock.

You learn to love every piece of it like an especially refined hors d’oeuvre

As long as there are people on earth with opinions and beliefs, we will be discussing this very fundamental question: “From where did we all come?” The core of our psyches wants answers to the big questions of our existence. Before we can know where we are going, we need to know where it all started.

This existential questioning has very deep roots in our religious and philosophical tenets. If a person is of the conviction that there is a higher power above all, he will adhere to creationism. His unshakable belief in a divine Providence drives his allegiance toward a creationist outlook. In the mind of a creationist, a sovereign being has absolute power over not only the present, but also the past. This divine being has not recently “come into power;” rather he both created and sustained all of his creation.

However, one that denies the existence of a higher power also denies the existence of a creator. If there is no one in power now, why should there ever have been? After all, if such a being had the power to create everything, he must also have the power to remain. Thus, if a person does not believe in a higher power, he must look to another explanation for his own existence. Evolution provides this explanation.

Therefore, there will always be a division between those who hold to a creationist viewpoint and those who cling to an evolutionist conviction. This discussion will last for as long as creation exists with the ability to question its own existence. However, the differences do not necessarily need to lead to a controversy. Since the Scopes Trial of 1925, the argument between the two camps has centered on which one should be taught in a school setting. This is where I think the controversy could finally end. Since a belief in either idea stems from one’s metaphysical conviction, it’s really a personal decision. Therefore, both ideas could be easily introduced in a classroom setting. As long as the two are presented in an unbiased and nonjudgmental way, an open discussion would not only make leaders of both camps contented, but would also encourage students to think through the issues for themselves. After all, teaching a child to analyze is the highest education he could be given.

THREE TRILLION DOLLAR DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ

(In a powerfully written recent book Joseph Stiglitz has voiced conern over the America’s extending stay in Iraq. He made a critical note that America will have to cough up a colossal sum of three trillion dollar to toe its adventurist political line. And what for? To restore or instal democracy in Iraq.)

What are you carrying

In your bulging belly, Sam?

A whorehouse of babyboom

Power of hot potatoes

Of democracy

Of miscarriage of three trillion dollars?

Bloody thy hand is anarchy

Bloody thy name is Sam

Bloody thy holy grail

Of imperial lust

Of drooling saliva

In awe and shock

Dropping dead millions of desert lambs

Cross bones and skulls

Under the debris of burns and ruins

Climbing down the streams of Euphretis

Through the thick linings of blood and sweat

Through a deluge of sufferings of cries and whispers

Of those dying and extinguishing in flames

As ever in swearing words of thy name

To deflower your long lost sanctity

In a battle of crusade

Against your harem of ancien regime.

Over and over again the bell tolls

The bell of three trillion dollars’ democracy

In siren of crying and whispering

In cold winter clouds

The demolishing machine guns

The terminators standing atop the unaccomplished sky

In full insignia of froths and frolics

Aiming at all swearing faiths and beliefs

Big machismo drops a bluster of croaking frogs

Fat man behind them with bulging belly

Choking in orgasmic delights

Shamelessly and in vain glory

Of ever enhancing libido

In haste to cross the last frontiers

Of laissez faire banana republic

Of metaphysical fame and glory

In a behemoth of surrealistic pleasure.

What price is democracy?

What is cooking in your bulging belly?

You know, Sam, you know for sure

A rose is always a rose in our perfumed garden

But when it is deflowered at your luncheon table

It becomes a concubine in your harem

Of imperial lust

To celebrate the world in your bulging belly

With your accomplished grizzly bear

You revolve around your orbital libido

Trampling upon the petals of human hope and desire

And it pays you in democracy

In extravaganza of three trillion dollars

And your bulging belly pukes in long wows.

Resolved: When contemplating and valuating needful things, Fantasy Baseball emerges preponderant.

After a good ol’ fashioned prolonged rumination on the cosmos and the ontological quandaries that exist therein yields the peremptory conclusion that I may need to pad the ol’ resume if employment in any manifestation should ever materialize as an eventuality for me, my mind becomes drawn summarily and inextricably to Fantasy Baseball.

“For” – to borrow liberally from Samuel Johnson “there is in [Fantasy Baseball] all that life can afford.” And until the Royals make the move to London, ol’ Sammy will necessarily remain a liar, a fraud, and quite possibly a third-tier Fantasy Baseball GM, for even a cursory glance by the ignorant layman will yield that the men and women, indeed no one if not those who are “at all intellectual” who concern themselves with the metaphysical matters of consequence attendant to Fantasy Baseball, find in this most noble and elevated of all cerebral tasks, All used herein in the superlative and unequivocal sense that life can afford.

Through what other means, pray tell, can our species better devote the gross synergistic product of the talents and abilities of the planet’s elite kinesiologists, statisticians, physicists, architects, and yes, even meteorologists, than in determining empirically and authoritatively whether or not the lateral wind forces in the power alleys of San Diego’s PETCO Park make Jake Peavy a higher starting pitcher pick than the Met’s newly acquired Johan Santana?

There can be no debate to the dialectic that the talent that emerges from the elite of academia best applies its powers toward the benefit of society by tackling the syllogism pursuant to “If Manny Ramirez gets hit in the head by a Duracell battery hurled from a 43-year-old Caucasian male Yankees fan sitting in the upper deck, how then does his next 12 at-bats compare to if he were hit in the clavicle with a generic battery flung from a 27-year-old Micronesian Blue Jays fan sitting in the bleachers aloft third base?”

Existentialism as an academic discipline solicits valuation and when the league buy-in is $21.51 a head, with the first four places slated to profit financially, any and all argument against the necessary entity that is Fantasy Baseball withers in the face of the overpowering inductive rhetoric in favor of its perseity.

Having thus contended on the side of “Resolved: Fantasy baseball prowess should restructure the societal,

Edwin Starr asked the question, “War: what is it good for?” The musical response was “absolutely nothing”. The song was written while the Viet Nam war raged and the next question could be “War: what have we learned?”. Unfortunately the musical response would be “absolutely nothing except make sure that the war is fought by volunteers and make sure that only the troops and their families make any sacrifices.

The 5th anniversary of beginning the Iraq War is just about here.

What good things that have happened as the result of the war? The good is listed here in no particular order. Unfortunately the good things listed may be of a transitory nature to be replaced by other even more difficult problems that will need to be resolved as time and circumstances go on.

1) Saddam Hussein is dead and the people in the country that were his enemies may be safer.

2) We are almost metaphysically sure that there are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

3) Rightly or wrongly some people believe that establishing fronts against Al Queda in Iraq have lessened the threat to people in the United States.

4) There have been no additional scud missile attacks on Israel from Iraq.

5) The United States Military has made great strides in the development of drone airplanes that can keep pilots out of harms way. Military medicine has also made great strides in saving lives that previously would have been lost

6) If you believe in democracy the Shiites who are in the majority have a better chance at ruling the country.

7) We are developing methodologies to counter insurgencies and if you believe the military the strategy is working.

The Kurdish people in the north are safer and have become relatively prosperous.

Unfortunately, President Bush’s pronouncement of “mission accomplished” was premature, wrong and in retrospect could be restated “as precious little accomplished” except for an even more profound involvement in a area of the globe that has been embroiled in continuous conflict for many years.

These conflicts whether Arab/Israeli, Palestinian/Israeli, Israel/Lebanon, Iran/Iraq, Gulf War I and Gulf War II, the continued insurgancy/civil war and now issues related to our occupation of Iraq the overall problems seem to be as intractable as ever and our presence in Iraq will continue for the seeable future and maybe longer.

Preemptive war: what is good for? It is no wonder that the American voter wants change.

Jane Doe,

I am on your team when it comes to the after affects of abortions on the woman. I am all for women and their rights, although, I believe that there is a distinct biophysical, and metaphysical psychological differences between male and female. These being based both in hereditary and nurtured by upbringing and susceptance to societal roles induced by family and environment.

I am a stickler on words. I see that the term anti-choice monikker being used to describe pro-lifers. I am aware of how words affect emotions, and emotions the thinking patterns and acceptance or rejection of concepts and perceptions. So, I do propose that if each time the term anti-choice is used, we of the platform that holds unborn humans as life, we should relay the thought of anti-life for the opposing platform. It is not a mere tis for tat, it is not a disparaging ploy, however, it is a matter and stance for human life, or one against human life. Rather simple, isnot it?

Not only does the statistics show that America leads all of the world in unwed pregnacies, and the individualistic ideals that we somehow promote instills a false and unrealistic sense of “me.” We are in a life struggle to reach the youth of America and to instill values of responsibility. And to teach them that it is not a choice after conception, as much as one that should be considered before sexual play. It is a life. And no matter at what stage of life, whether technically considered a human baby or not, which is the most ridiculous argument I have ever heard. It is life, it was and is conceived in a human body, and if left unadultered it will become resemblance of humanity.

I do not believe that the Planned Parenthood people truly get it. It is not about choice afterwards. I say again it is a choice beforehand, not one based on after thoughts of “Oh, I can’t support this baby, or I am a child myself, or for the saving of societal rejection from the crusty upper classes that would have their pregnant female child ostracised for out of wedlock intercourse and such.

I liked reading your article, keep up the good work.
